The Local Government Unit of Pudtol through the Leadership of Mayor Hector Reuel D. Pascua is awarded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for its Outstanding Practices of Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Operations and is set to receive plaque of recognition and cash award on July 21, 2022 at Paragon Hotel and Suites, Baguio City.

Section 32 of RA 9003 also known as “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.” mandates the establishment of Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in every barangay or cluster of barangays in order to meet the mandatory waste diversion of solid waste from disposal facilities through re-use, recycling and composting activities and other resources recovery activities.

The award is a result of the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders; the LGU and barangays, the schools, the business sector, and the community in general. But there are still a lot to be done and everyone’s commitment is needed in regard to solid waste management.
